Design your own tiles, from cutting to firing.
Learn the art of designing, cutting, glazing and firing custom ceramic tiles, for decorative panels, backsplashes or architectural accents.
A tile looks simple until you make one. Cathy will take you through the whole sequence, from the first drawing to the fired surface, and show you how much character a single square can hold.
Sessions: Friday 20 November, 18:00 to 20:00 Saturday 21 November, 14:00 to 16:30
What is included
The price covers the class, all materials, the first firing and a transparent glaze.
Would you like colour instead? Add the colour glazing option when you book, for EUR 35. That gives you one hour with Cathy to apply glazes to your pieces using the brushing method, with a choice of colours, for stunning surface finishes.
About our ceramic workshops
Led by Belgian ceramist Cathy Deprez, known for her expressive and intuitive approach to clay, these sessions are conceived both as technical learning and as creative moments in a warm and inspiring setting.
Subtile has been offering these courses for over two years and their popularity keeps growing. Beyond Cathy’s technical expertise, what participants come back for is the atmosphere: people connect with each other, and each session takes place in the middle of a new exhibition, where beauty is the central focus and feeds your own creativity.
This course teaches you that each creation is born of human skill and the unpredictability of the material. Let creativity seep in, and trust yourself.
Open to all levels, adults and teens from 12 years old.
Date: 20/11 & 21/11 (4.5h over 2 days to let the clay dry properly)
Time: 20/11 6-8pm
21/11 2-4.3’pm
Subtile can also create customised courses for a private group or a company. Get in touch at info@subtile.style.
