VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is Austria’s most important multidisciplinary and curated design festival. Beyond the preoccupation with the design of products, it poses the question of what role the work of designers plays for coexistence in the city and worldwide. Since 2007, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK has been a defining part of Vienna’s design landscape. Organized by an independent association, the festival comprises around 200 events and welcomes 40,000 visitors each year.

The VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is not a trade fair, but a design festival that celebrates the joy of design, tells the stories behind products and emphasises the beauty of designers’ work.
WHERE EARTH MEETS THE CELESTIAL
Curated and presented by Subtile, this immersive installation marks the first public presentation of Celestial Nature, a sculptural and modular table co-created with designer Valentin Bony. The scenography brings together Erik Barray’s woven willow suspensions and lamps, Marion Delaporte’s ceramic candleholders, and a landscape of earth and sand. Blurring the boundaries between design, craft and nature, the installation invites architects, interior designers, curators, collectors and design professionals to experience contemporary collectible design as a sensory environment.
This creation acts as a zone of tension and balance between three distinct elements: the earth (ceramic), the sand (glass), and the industrial force of steel. By bringing these materials together, the table creates a dialogue between the artisanal hand and the industrial heritage of Luxembourg, merging past and present.
Celestial Nature is an invitation to rediscover the beauty of a world without rigid silos, where design becomes a bridge between our industrial roots and our celestial consciousness.
