Art Exhibition: Ruben Vidal, Light and Shadow: the 2 sides of Alabaster
Ruben Vidal: Upcoming Exhibition Opening on October 23rd. 2024 (23/10-17/11/2024)
We invite you to explore the captivating works of Ruben Vidal at his upcoming exhibition, opening on October 23rd and running for one month. Renowned for his innovative approach to materials, Ruben expresses his excitement about working with alabaster— a versatile and stable medium that offers a unique translucency. This intriguing quality allows for varied visual experiences depending on the lighting, whether viewed with frontal light or backlighting, providing endless creative possibilities.
Ruben’s artistic process incorporates elements of engraving and texture, utilizing the natural veins and colors inherent in the alabaster to enhance his paintings. He describes these materials as “alive,” allowing their characteristics to inspire his work. This exhibition beautifully blends painting and sculpture, perfectly aligning with our passion for natural materials, particularly the alabaster sourced from the Centro Integral para el Desarrollo del Alabastro (CIDA) in Albalate del Arzobispo in Spain.

Hailing from Alcañiz and resident at CIDA in 2023 and 2024, Ruben previously showcased his work in a successful exhibition at Subtile Gallery in Luxembourg three years ago. His technical expertise, honed during his studies in Florence, contributes to his status as a fabulous figurative painter with remarkable sensitivity.
